A Fleeting Glimpse....

Brisbane, Australia
No sooner had the headphones caressed my ears, than I escaped into a virtual world, familiar only through the silver screen and my imagination. And if a song can do that for me, it generally warrants my seal of approval.
So when I found myself, a boy from the big smoke, steering my horse through the red dirt of a dusty outback town, I realised my full appreciation for A FLEETING GLIMPSE. This posse have been sending Brisbane audiences on telepathic adventures for about 5 years, but only recently released their debut EP, which sounds like a benevolent outlaw, betrayed by his council, his amigo, and his woman, a burden that has no doubt, at some point, manifested itself in our own smokey, chaotic versions of reality.
These songs span the whole dark plot of a romanticised journey through an unforgiving place. A young life marred by heavy loss. But loss that inspires a new beginning, and the hope of reward that one can unwittingly gain through making sacrifices and standing up for what is right.
Picture a city meets country shootout between Patti Smith, Nick Cave, Glenn Richards, Neko Case, and Nick Drake.
If A FLEETING GLIMPSE catch you in the right mood, they'll slow you down and have your eyes drawn shut, ambling to the beat of a dusty snare and a thundering bass drum, with one hand on your heart, and the other on your revolver.
