Pitching Woo - Yours etc.
Melbourne, Australia

Occasionally fate will sling a lazy BLT uppercut straight in the mouth when you least expect it. I copped one about 3 weeks back and I’m still reeling… I had been whoring my way through MySpace for an hour or 2 when I stumbled upon Pitching Woo. My eyes glazed over as soon as I heard the opening bars of their song ‘The Colder Front’. It’s been haunting me since.
Pitching Woo are 5 blokes from Melbourne with a debut EP called “Yours, etc.” They play beautiful astral pop with twinges of electro and ambient rock. It’s a hard comparison actually. I liken it somewhat to early Speedstar*, however the synth adds a unique atmospheric dimension which really sets them apart.
Now when you consider the name ‘Pitching Woo’, you’re probably thinking “Finally! Music that will get me laid!”. I don’t want to quash that impression, cause this music probably gets the band laid fairly regularly, but be warned, its not from the Barry White/James Brown ‘sex-on-legs’ school. Rather, it’s more along the lines of candles, aromatherapy, sensual backrubs, and a shit-load of innuendo that generally leads nowhere (patience grasshopper.... patience). But, with tunes like these… who could say no?
Hmmm… We’ll see…
So close your eyes. Let me take you on a ride through the stars...

PS - Sydneysiders, see them with me Friday August 11 @ The Hopetoun (w/ Deloris and Tucker Bs) and prepare to be wooed!
