Rubens Rocks Out

Adelaide, Australia
If only my art history teacher at school was into indie rock. Maybe then my appreciation for artists like Rubens and Delacroix would have been justified by more than just voluptuous women with no clothes on. I have to confess, my young virile mind found it difficult to comprehend how a hot naked chick could symbolise the innocence and vulnerability of the world and its people.
So in the hope of inspiring a renewed and more acute appreciation for the baroque style, I tried out the old 'art with an ipod' experience, and turned a seemingly everyday dead European's artwork into a motivational masterpiece.
The soundtrack comes from Adelaide band, All Made of Rubies, who possess a wicked strike and a fire in the belly. They will sink their teeth into your jugular, drag you to their den, and eat you alive. If given some serious studio time, these animals may well tear their way through your favourites, so brace your ears. It will send you out with clenched fists, on the hunt for lions (and there's a constructive metaphor there for even the horniest of teenagers). Theres a beast on the loose! So sharpen your wits, and show no mercy!

We might never see you again...

And as you drag the big cat back into camp, here's your victory pop song from Swedish indie kids, La Concorde, to wash away the dirt from those bloody wounds...
