Ears ringing - Slightly hungover but satisfied :)

Just a short quick one today (I'm oh so tired and it's 9:30 on a Friday night). I'm still beaming (albeit tired) over last night, what a gig! So much hype has been around the Young & Restless and I was feeling a little left out because I was yet to see them but yeah, now I can join in. Karina, their frontwoman, left such an impression that I woke up in my sleep having nightmares about her ripping my heart out 'Kali ma, kali ma'. Hang on, change the 'R' to 'L' and the 'N' to 'M' and you have? weird.
Anyway if you're like me and have been in la la land (I go there for holidays) make sure you leave your sheltered special place for a day and come to a Y&R gig. They'll blow your fucking brains out!

... and god damn it, The Paper Scissors. This would be my 45th mention of them since we started this blog. I have no doubt about who my favourite Australia band is now - a mixture of funk, soul and damn good indie rock. TPS are la merde. A wicked live show too.
They're headlining next week at Spectrum (23rd) - get your pasty winter arses down there and buy me a beer... it's my birthday.

Of Montreal are about to release a new album titled Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer? From what I've heard, expect a little more electro than usual (though they were heading that way with Sunlandic Twins). Anyway I'm digging this tune like I'm on my way to China.
Labels: The Paper Scissors, Young And Restless

You're talking about the candy's gig?
I was there too. It was so much fun!
