We owe it all to the 4th Earl of Sandwich
Sydney, Australia
Our mate Ben from Vespers wrote this little piece for the Sandwich Club rock night. Sheer genius! Thanks for last Thursday, you guys are awesome...
After a hectic day smiting stinky and unappreciative serfs the 4th Earl of Sandwich, John Montagu, waddled home in search of a new snack."Yo wench," he bellowed to his lady friend Denise. "Bring me a mutherfucking snack and be mutherfucking quick sticks about it. Quick sticks!"
Easily swooned by the Earl's stern tone, Denise decided to use her talents as a conceptual artist to craft a radical snack, something that would satisfy fans of the savoury and hearty yet flexible enough to give sweet tooths a raging hard-on. Denise sliced two pieces of bread and slapped some ham in between. Voila! Once served to the Earl he was moved to indulge hugh praise on his lady friend. "This mutherfucker is delicious," he said. "What you calling it then?"
"I thought of calling it The Denise, my lord," Denise replied.
"That's rubbish," the Earl muttered from a full mouth. "We're calling this mutherfucker a Sandwich."
"Yes my lord," Denise said as she succumbed to the lowly position that history would grant her.
But don't fret peeps - the spirit of Denise lives on at the Sandwich Club (sounds better than the Denise club), a rock night devoted to creative artists like the aforementioned bawdy wench.

We had a fair bit of competition last Thursday for the aformentioned rock night. One of the 'conflicting' events was the launch of a new EP/demo for Cuthbert & The Nightwalkers. I've been keeping an eye on this bunch for a few months and really believe they have what it takes. A softer rock sound and a charismatic frontmant in Richie (who happens to have a hot mum). Our local version of The Decemberists.
So I don't have a copy of their new release since I was at 'our night' - bastard Cuthbert & Night things... but here's a couple of older ones from a previous demo.

And Saturday of this fine long weekend brings what? Spring cleaning. I hate cleaning so I'm using this blog as an excuse for 'I'm working!' while my girlfriend cleans the bathroom. Anyway I'm listening to one of my favourite bands, The Coral. Despite a decent following in the UK, they're a band that has been overlooked down here on Britain's farm. Time to change that! Any band that sings about ghosts, pirates and time machines has to be cool... right?? Maybe it's just me... I still watch Scooby Doo for fucks sake!

The Coral! Now that's a band I haven't heard about for a while. I bought their first album years ago but had no idea they'd released more since then. Thanks Baron. I just bought their last album and love it. Now where are my scooby snacks?
