The Blow

The Blow c/o Daniel Peterson

Portland, USA
The Blow, a new favourite of mine. Chilled synth pop from Portland. The female, male duo have just released their 4th album Paper Television and after listening to it for the umpteenth time this weekend, I'm slighly surprised I hadn't heard of them earlier. It is, however, the sound of the moment, and with bands like The Klaxons, Cansei and New Young Pony Club doing the rounds, these guys are sure to be a hit over the summer. Check them out, I could hardly recommend them more.

Australian Tour dates:
Sunday 26 Nov; Newtown Theatre; Sydney
Thursday 23 Nov; Rob Roy Hotel; Melbourne
Friday 24 Nov; Rocket Bar; Adelaide
Saturday 25 Nov; Troubadour; Brisbane

they're awesome, i've had "pile of gold" on my partying playlist for a few weeks and it's grown on me like some kind of funky party fungus.

I saw them a few years ago in Vancouver opening for someone (The Hidden Cameras I think) and I wasn't all that taken with them. But I'll have to check out some of their newer stuff.

Yeah I read a bit about them before... a lot of people are saying they've matured a bit and are playing better now. I have no idea though... will have to get my hands on those other albums!
