Minimum Chips
Melbourne, Australia With their knitted garb, a love of picnics and an obsession with vintage Ray Manzarek style keyboards, Minimum Chips have one foot in the present, and the other somewhere back in the early 70's.
Passive vocals, ambling percussion, and the odd bubble and squeak craft a lo-fi, retrospective sound so delicate you'll find yourself dodging cracks in the pavement.
Somewhat repetitive on the surface, the beauty of Minimum Chips is hidden deep in their complex arrangements. From the hopeful swagger of Friends to the drowsy meditation of Marble Arch and phrenetic mayhem of Surfkill, their transitions in style, however subtle, may be adapted to a variety of moods. Whether it be love, frustration, joy or sorrow, Minimum Chips offer the ideal noise to glut your emotions on. Best served with headphones and a good view of the ocean, or the stars or some other cliche.

You can explore a generous serving of mp3's on their website (The Gardenesque EP is a personal highlight). Also watch the video clip for Goodbye here, shot on Super 8 of course.
