Do The Walrus Baby!
Sydney, Australia
WALRUS get around the Sydney scene like Sally Davis did in year 12. By their reckoning they've played over 100 shows since 2002 but this figure is probably more like 200 given I hear their name pop up every day of the week playing this there and that (even holding a weekly Wednesday night spot down at The Excelsior just recently). Rather than being the gig playing town bike who will be forever labelled a music slut, these guys are more like the hot girl that's 'just having fun' - by that I mean they're talented.
I hear so many influences in their music; occasionally a hint of The White Stripes, perhaps some Louis XIV and even some Nick Cave - actually it's really hard to describe their sound. It's dirty and one can only imagine the filth it spawned from out of the back room of some seedy bar in Newtown.
Mp3: WALRUS - War!

But that was so obvious Marc. The title was more of an attempt to stick it the goo goo g'joob cronies and their corporations.
