Gig Pick TUESDAY

Tuesday:

Wons Phreely
Ruby Rabbit - seven dollars
Wons Phree-LySpace
Wons Phreely and Ruby Rabbit go together like John Butler and American foreign policy, but regardless of the ill-fitting venue, it'll be a night of mellow, engaging music, sweet melodies and charming lyricism.

Wednesday:
Dead Letter Chorus
The Hopetoun - eight dollars
Let this rich, folky six piece take you away on your favorite lush green adventure. You will be impressed!
myspace

Thursday:
Pivot, Richard In Your Mind
Hopetoun - ten dollars
Richard In Your MindSpace
If Pivot made a sandwich it'd be filled with the swirling ocean on a storming night. Richard In Your Mind would be the psychadelic acid milkshake served on the side. It wouldn't really be much of a meal.

Friday:
Peter Bjorn & John, Cuthbert & The Nightwalkers
Cuthbert & The MySpacers
The Metro - thirty eight + booking fee
We wouldn't be a blog if we didn't give due notice to these whistling Swedes, who play their folktronica love-pop (just making up genres now), with support from Sydney's own lads Cuthbert & the Nightwalkers.
AND PROPS TO: Holy crap there's a lot on tonight. Head to MUM for Children Collide, Factory for the Walkmen, Bar Broadway for the Spark's EP Launch, and the all-ages Friday I’m In Love - Dappled, Teenagersintokyo, Bang Gang DJs AND it's for a good cause.

Saturday:
Bad Kids Recreation Club
Bar Broadway - fifteen dollars
BKRC
Okay it's not strictly a gig, but there'll be music, colour, love and a heap of "Do's" at Vice Magazine's student guide launch party this week. So: pretty much like Mardi Gras but sans G-strings. Actually I take that back, there'll probably be G-strings.

Sunday:
Flamingo Crash, Nancy Vice's Beau Monde
The Filth @ Beach Road Hotel
Flamingo Crash, Beau Monde
It's like both these bands have gotten your everyday synth-rock, mixed in some garage punk, and then wrapped it up in courageous vocals. A huge package of gritty fun with a multi-coloured bow on top, and we promise you will dance.

:( No love for SebastiAn? It may be $40 but he has come out from France.

Good suggestions. Last one was good too. That's all I wanted to say. Good.
