A response to a song
OOOH! Shinsy, shimmery opening fuzz... Twiddly, vibey bits wander off in the background. Sounds like pavement - not so much the band, although there's bit of that... but also like sun-warmed paths on a bright February afternoon. I find myself nodding along. It's too hot to do anything else, and this song is so summery it just seemed to get a little hotter... but in a nice paddle-pool-in-the-backyard kind of way. I need something fizzy and cold and mildly alcoholic. Also, I have a craving for something else... PINKERTON!!! That's it. I need to go hear myself some Weezer.
But first I need to listen to this song again. Listen! There's a doo-doo-doo breakdown in the middle...

PS Now I've recovered from my little end-of-summer happy music coma (see what I did there?) I can tell you that The Comas are from North Carolina slash New York and have a disc entitled Spells out on Vagrant records in April.
