Sparkadia: Things Behind The Sun

Sydney, Australia
The melodic indie pop anthems of Sparkadia are well known to many in Sydney but it may come as a surprise that they've only just released their debut EP, Things Behind The Sun with local label Boundary Sounds. After following the band for some time, it was nice to finally hear something polished from the group. Things Behind The Sun is an excellent debut and one is left with a sense of optimism - they'll make it. Lying somewhere between Doves and Cold Play, Sparkadia's sound is unique in a pop rock dominated Australian music scene. 'Morning Light' is a clear highlight, their first single which has been well received by many radio stations around the country. Also excellent tracks are the dreamy psychedelic number 'Follow The Sun' and the epic 'Devil In Me'; my favourite.

Sparkadia's EP launch is this Friday at Bar Broadway. Check their website for details.
