The Chequered Leopards

Sydney, Australia
With more competitions going around than you can poke a spear at lately it is only too clear as to why a cluster of quality bands are emerging from the Sydney concrete jungle. One of these Sydney species to come out of camouflage lately has been The Chequered Leopards. Playing regular gigs in the frequented indie grazing grounds of the Hopetoun, World Bar, Candys Apartment and The Annandale has accrued these musical cubs a glutton of 'cred' in their short existence and resulted in airplay on FBi radio of late. All that is required is their lead leopard, Freddy (Toby) Fitch, to develop a louder, richer roar as time passes to match their untamed sound. I look forward to hearing it after some solid (well deserved) studio time. Packs of similar blues/rock breed include The Mess Hall, Kings Of Leon and The Black Keys. One of the tracks to stalk up behind me lately has been their wild one "Pollyanger". Their pacing rhythym and scuffing guitar hooks definately make you feel like you're out on the hunt. Grrrrrrr. Have a taste. Check them out on these dates:
