The Revolutionary Kind

Sydney, Australia
These guys have created a mixed sound of genres ranging from rock, country and a big dash of pop. The Revolutionary Kind's 5-track demo has grown on me for the past few months. As I listen more and more I discover layers and think of walking through the country side, striding guitars supported with easy laid back keys, a bass line rolling you along the hills and a drummer pushing you up like that old Massey Ferguson tractor.
Vance's singing has a slight Dylanesque drawl, without the liquor perhaps! And his lyrics have a story telling that encapsulate the music written with it, taking you on a 'revolutionary kind' of journey. Not having seen these guys play live I can only guess it gets better, as the demo lacks a bit of dynamic range, with the lower ends becoming a little muddled and some of the high ends piercing the ears.
In all this is great head bopping foot tapping music, from the opening track Pop Life, to the closing track Escapades, you start grooving more and more.
