Group Seizure
“Right that’s it! I’ve got Cabin fever” I said to myself, clutching my head. Little wonder, I had been stuck in the house for the past 2 days and basically hadn’t left the computer for that whole time (I work from home you see). “F*#k it! I'm going for a ride or something, this is killing me!” I proclaimed, hands aloft and room mate cowering...
Later:
Right,
Bike: CHECK!
Tyres pumped up: CHECK!
Helmet: NAH (you stoopid idiot!)
80’s style half finger gloves: HELLS YEAH!
iPod: CHECK!
Tunes that match the headless chicken mood you’re in... hmmmmmmmmm...click.
Blasting down the street last night I felt like I was 10 years old, desperately fleeing my ass off from some corner store owner whom I had just stolen a bounty of red frogs, wizz fizz, and warheads from (candy for our O.S readers). My heart was pumping and my little legs going like a scalded cat on acid. Whoa! Part of the reason for this uncalled for and obscure dive into lack of self control was the band I was listening to, Group Seizure, a band from Melbourne that captured my attention whilst following a labyrinth of Aussie band’s friend lists on the space we all know and love.
With the stark halo reflections of the streetlights coming off the road and a little obstacle called oncoming traffic, I found it hard to navigate pot-holes and judge corners. For some reason I didn’t want to stop. This chaos blurred into the fast paced disco drugged drum beats (ha! say that 3 times fast!) and squalls of guitar distortions which kept my head on a bender. Skidding around into my unit block’s driveway, the last big slam of Group Seizure's sounds left my headphones and hit my ears. It felt like I was in a movie, corner store owner left gasping and my heavy hit of sugar in my clutches. Cool.
Cabin fever? Take a listen to these guys and call me in the morning.
