Modest Mouse to headline the Falls Festival

Today is the happiest day of my life. You see, I have this list of bands that I'm destined to never see - no not by choice, I want to see all these bands but mainly because of geographic location (certainly not because they don't like Australians or any hogswash like that... everyone loves Australians) I will never get to see them. Who is in this formidable list you may ask? Well off the top of my head they are: The Pixies, Of Montreal, The Coral, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (croaky voice my arse) and Modest Mouse (ok this list changes all the time but the ones in bold never leave it).
Well I can safely cross one of them off today - that is unless some horrendous fate befalls me before the end of the year. It won't... I'm an optimist. Yes Modest Mouse is headlining the bill for the Falls Festival(s) this year and I'm excited as a child with ADHD.
Anyway I'll stop my rambling... here's the bill for the first announcement (click for their mySpace).
Looking pretty bloody good.... So with 50% of tickets already allocated, you better jump on the festival bandwagon and grab some. Remaining tickets on sale 9am August 16th. Check out the Falls website for more details.

So glad you didn't post Float On... it makes me sad that so many people recognize MM by that song. There is a whole lot more to them. Good to see that you Aussies are finally going to see some mouse action. One of America's finest live acts.

Couldn't agree more... MM has a pretty good following in Aussie these days though. FBi (local radio) has been smashing their other stuff for yonks

When I read the falls site the other night I fell of my chair. I have a similar list to yours, and MM are most firmly a part of it. But where is the frikken side tour!?!?! They can't come, and not do one. I currently have the game plan of holding out till next wednesday in hope, then spontaneously deciding whether or not I can get to Lorne on the 29th of December. This depresses me.
I'm sure MM will do a side tour... I think I'll need to suck in all the MM I can have while they're here
