Angus & Julia Stone @ FBi's Bandcamp & Online Gigging

A&J Stone c/0 Mitch Connelly

Sydney, Australia
When someone mentions band camp, I conjure up images of teenage girls, pyjamas and flutes (reminds me of a video I saw on whiteboydancefloor). Not so for Angus & Julia Stone - apparently they think of campfires. Well not really. The Sydney radio channel FBi invited them to appear on their show 'Band Camp' where they ask artists to write a song about a theme in less than an hour. The theme was campfires and here is the result... pretty good considering the two rarely write together.

Second Life, It's In The Computer Man
So where will you be seeing your next gig? Possibly in the computer if you're going to see Glasgow rockers The Hedrons. After amassing a huge following over MySpace they've gone one step geekier and are now using the internerd to broadcast a virtual gig over Second Life - an online fantasy world. I'll admit that I'm tempted but I'm not sure whether I'm willing to give up my dirty sneakers for Mr Spock ears just yet...
