Folding for Air
This one is about 2 years too late, but well worthy of a mention... Folding For Air are folksy four piece from Melbourne. They released an EP in 2004 called "Are You Afraid of Heights" which did really well in their home town however they seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth since. If you like your Angus and Julia Stone its worth nabbing these tunies. It has that same stripped back guitar weaving in with the chilling, meloncholic vocals of lead singer Jen Hval. If you know where they might be hiding, please alert your local sandwichclub representative.

FROM ANT (SOULS ON BOARD)
hey champs,
ant S.O.B. here, hope you are sharp. i was getting my fill of your lovely blog the other day and noticed a band called 'folding for air' and as it turns out i have the info on them. i was in the frikkin band!! as was mark from S.O.B. i played drums and mark played organ/foot pedals/bass. of the other two, the main songwriters, Tom is in the UK somewhere working and i'm sure writing some spicy music and Jen is back in Norway, where she came from, about to release her first album under the moniker 'Rocket to the Sky', she has a myspace. on the rumours front there may be some more folding for air action in 2007 when all members will probably be in melbourne at the same time but this is a mere mumbling behind closed doors of 1 bedroom flats worldwide.
much love as always,
ant
