As a big fan of Crayon Fields I was stoked to hear about Kamerah 'Hats' Darling's solo project. Apparently around since 2004, Sly Hats sticks to the same 'so-twee-it-hurts' formula that they have made popular. The melodies have the same cutesy appeal and the same use of quirky instrumentation/percussion, but it does make his personal contribution to Crayon Fields very apparent. He's been playing some shows around Melbs, and is up in Sydney at the Hoey on June 9 after release of his debut album.
