Venus Shadow
Sydney Australia,
Staring into the luminous band of stars that makes up Sydney's musical 'up and comers' a few nights ago a Venus Shadow cast itself over me. Combining obvious influences from The Stereophonics, The Weakerthans and A.C Newman this young foursome captured my attention upon the first listen to "Playground" and "Candyland". Rasping vocals and rich, thick guitar riffs earn this band of unknowns considerable counts of merit. All this from a band who is only now becoming accustomed to cultivating their own five o'clock shadows. Scary.

I've seen these guys at the Cat & Fiddle, Candy's apartment and Sydney Uni's Manning Bar. They're very tight musically and have a very, very promising future
